As a unique and vital part of the Masonic fraternal family, Daughters of the Nile is an all-women group that exists to aid financially and physically in supporting the Shriners Hospitals for Children®. Each year the members of Daughters of the Nile give generously of their time to the hospitals by providing more than 150,000 volunteer hours at the Shriners Hospitals for Children®. In addition they sew clothing and quilts, and provide toys, books, games and other educational and recreational items for the children with an annual value of over $900,000. Additionally, members of Daughters of the Nile participate in many social events and activities that provide an extraordinary foundation for a network of friendships of which the benefits are endless.

The Supreme Temple, Daughters of the Nile Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit public corporation which maintains a permanent endowment fund to benefit Shriners Hospitals for Children®. All monetary donations promote, support and maintain the philanthropic endeavors that enhance the medical care and treatment of the patients in the Shriners Hospitals for Children®. A Canadian Trust provides the same support to the Canadian Shriners Hospital.

Due to the generosity of the members, their families and friends, Daughters of the Nile has achieved Gold Plaques in all of the twenty-two Shriners Hospitals for Children®. These contributions represent nearly 45 Million dollars since 1924 when our philanthropy was established.

"Naphis" is an Egyptian word meaning "refreshed." As Daughters of the Nile our social events and ceremonies are surrounded by an appreciation for the ancient Egyptian society, and teaches lessons of virtue admirable by any moral woman. We are a group of women that are driven to help children in need, and enjoy each other's company in the process.

Naphis Temple No. 66 began on May 22nd, 1944, when 13 ladies signed a Petition for Institution. Growing to 52 members, the Temple was Constiuted on October 6th, 1944. Over the years, membership grew to over 1300 members at one point, and the Temple has developed many proud traditions and a great legacy.

Today, Naphis maintains approximately 500 members and meets the 4th Monday of every month except July, August and December. Our meetings, refered to as "Stated Sessions" are at 1:00pm in January and June, and 7:00pm in February, March, April, May, September, October, and November. Our initiation ceremony, refered to as "Ceremonials" are held twice per year, once in the late summer/early fall, and once in the winter/early spring.
